Celtic Knot quilt

The holidays are over and I have been busy making things for the coming year. I wanted to make this celtic knot quilt for a long time. It took me a while to complete as it has a lot of quilting in it. I am working on some table runners and other Irish things for the St Partick's Day celebration at the Irish Cultural Center.

Hurray!!!! I traded in my short arm quilting machine for a long arm. Can't wait until it is set up

Day of the Cowboy

I was inspired to make this quilt by the Day of the Cowboy, July 25, 2009 at the Superstition Museum. This is an annual event which offers entertainment, storytellling, music, art, and food. Admission is free. The event takes place from 9:00-4:00. I thought this would be the perfect quilt for a little cowgirl.

The quilting incorporates customized celtic knots and stitch in the ditch techniques
This design combines piecing and applique techniques. It is mixture of clovers and celtic knots. There are 4 shades of green along with white. If you love all things Irish this is for you .

The quilting design in this fun quilt is a edge to edge stylized flower. I think the flower design brings the whole theme of bees, bears, honey together.
Novelty quilts are one of my specalities. This quilt is called The Bears & The Bees. The finished quilt is 67" square. The pattern is from a Leisure Arts book by Pam Bono Designs, Inc. The quilt combins bear paws, bees, and honey combs in a colorful whimsical design. It could be used as a table decoration for the spring. This quilt sell for just $175.00.
